Princess Bride Summer Reading

I'm so excited to announce that this summer's community book is 

William Goldman's 

The Princess Bride. 

This is one of the first summer reading assemblies where students have thanked me afterwards for choosing a book they want to read. I don't actually choose the book, but I appreciate the thought. Plus, they're required to watch the movie, and I think it will be fun discussion Goldman's novel with his movie adaptation.

Anybody who's read the book knows it's a lot more than that.)

Edward Cullen's predecessor

James Dean as Cal Trask in Elia Kazan's East of Eden is the original Edward Cullen.

Pale, thin, and beautiful. Check.
Superhuman running and jumping abilities. Check.
Awkward love triangle. Check.
Mysterious and brooding. Check and double check.

Time to give back.... What's adaptation would you say is farthest from the book or more moralizing than tolerable?
Hint. My thought is that East of Eden will make that list. :)
