ebooks and copyright

There are a lot of copyright and technical issues still being discussed in relation to ebooks, but I have to admit I never thought of this one. 

I supplement my collection with family donations, and I know that many libraries support their services with book sales that sell books donated by patrons. If the ebook you buy has a shelf life of one device and no transfers, you may get a lot less use out of each book.

I enjoy The Simpsons as much as anyone, and Lisa Simpson is probably the reason I keep watching. I know Homer's antics work for some, but I prefer Lisa's dorkdom.

I love how the Internet allows me to share other people's labor. I've wondered before about literary references, but I'd never put together a compendium. This is in slideshow format, so it's easy to peruse.

By the way, in reference to the scene at the top, did you know that virtual monkeys are performing better than regular monkeys (although neither has been particularly successful) at writing the words of Shakespeare? This is partly because the real monkeys broke the keyboard, but why quibble over details?
