Caption Contest - Book Review

Since I returned from my travels, there's been a dearth of comments. I miss interacting with readers. Or knowing I have readers... This picture is begging for a caption. If you want to go one step further, a brief book description would be great. Why? Because this was the image that accompanied a review in the New York Times Book Review recently. Did I want to read the book based on the review? Not really. Does the picture potentially persuade me otherwise? Absolutely!

Happy New Year, and I hope for comments soon.

Caption Contest-Fishy Edition

In honor of today's agenda of A) rod-and-reel squidding B) whale watching and C) watching a squid dissection this seemed like a good choice for a caption contest.

Caption Contest-Doc Rickett's Lab

This seems perfect for a Friday. It already has one caption, but don't you wonder what?

Caption Contest-Sunday Edition

I love it. In fact, I could even use my sticker-maker to copy it when I get back.

What should it be called?

Caption Contest-Revised

It can't quite work like Japan, where I found neat signs that were incomprehensible without English translations, but this could work like a good old-fashioned caption contest. Like on The Office, but before it got out of control.
And I'm including a close-up, although a video would be better. The site of thousands of birds with necks waddling in the wind was quite something to behold.

Caption Contest 7

I'm back in the states, still sleepy, but getting ready for IQ.
Can you wake me up with something good? Caption or description of this subway mural?

Caption Contest 6

You know you've got a good caption (or limerick!) for this poster. I'm waiting to see the best of the best. :) I'll accept the mediocre as well...

Caption Contest 5-A change of pace

We're taking a short break from the poster-style caption contest.
Although there are many more captions to be had...
Please describe this meal for me.

"Sticking to bacon parching combustion"

Seth and others interested in cuttlefish---did you see the entry 9: fried cuttlefish?

Caption Contest 3

Pull out your thinking caps! We’re going to have to increase the frequency of the caption contests from once a week to once a day! Hooray!
Help your brain; give it a workout.

(School-related posts are being proofed and will be sent shortly. It's not all fun and games here.)

Caption Contest 2

Put on your thinking caps and get out your sense of humor. :)
It's Friday night and time for another caption contest!

Anyone got a good one for this photo?

Caption Contest

As I’m writing my next post, (I still have 2 hours of Internet on the 24 hours I bought, so I’m backing up all my photos to Shutterfly because I only brought one memory card with me, although it’s probably a bad idea that I’m not sleeping at 1:30 when I have to get up at 4:30 to visit THE WORLD’S LARGEST FISH MARKET (both physically a large market and also containing large fish---according to the other participants, Japan still fishes whales), and the tuna auction starts at 5:30am.) I decided we needed a caption contest.

Any clue what is going on here? Or a witty response to what might be the purpose of this sign?

(If you know that your sentence doesn’t follow the laws of grammar when you write it (but don’t fix it), can you request still immunity from the sentence-diagramming police?”

New commenters welcome! I’ve organized the settings so that anyone can comment, even anonymously. I’d love to know who’s reading this and to start off my next Internet session with a few laughs.
