Quiet!

Two interesting articles people have shared with me recently about noise and sound. Actually, the "shushing librarians" article was shared with me by several people. Should I be concerned?

Each introduces ideas about cultural norms and expectations. The first focuses mainly on travel, while the second examines libraries specifically.

There is this statement in the New York Times: "As the clientele has become more diverse, there are some passengers who think the bus should be like a library and others who think it should be the party before the beach party."

Thought for the day --- Would that be a a metaphor with metonymy? :)

Loved the times article and tried the recommended Headspace site. Nice. I too value quiet libraries and thought I was an anachronism. Perhapss a dinosaur tp "coin" a metonymy.
