Iron Chef: iPad

Ever wonder what teachers do on professional development days when students aren't in school?
I know that I always did.

Today we had a group "Iron Chef" challenge within each division. The secret ingredient was the iPad. (Alright, it wasn't particularly secret since the ticket for admission this morning was an iPad, but we didn't know what we'd be doing with them.)

With two English teachers, a Latin teacher, and the chaplain, my group came up with an interactive, collaborative, interdisciplinary lesson tying together
On the Road and The Odyssey, specifically along the themes of journey and self-discovery.

Each division sent forth one team to represent itself against the other divisions. We didn't win, but one of the other Upper Division teams took first place overall. It was a close call after a flurry of voting on the polleverywhere site.
