Too Many Rules?!?

No eating. No drinking. No music without headphones.

Yes, it can seem like the library has too many rules, but they're intended to make the library a (pest-free) environment where everyone feels comfortable working.

That one about the drinks...it's there for a few reasons. 1. See above. Bugs love sugary residue. 2. Carpets. Carpets hate sugary residue. As do the cleaning folks. 3. Computers really really hate sugary residue. And while I can see that there's a lid on your coffee, if you knock it over you run the risk of breaking the computer for everyone.

Here are two hilarious signs from actual libraries. Glad I'm not concerned about either.

Georgia Public Library

The library is located in historic Goodnow Hall in MA, and the rule is intended to keep bats from the tower of the library.
Any crazy library rules you've seen?
