If it seems like I've been vague when asked about my itinerary for the trip, it's not intentional. This is the most descriptive itinerary that I've received. While some other participants want more detailed planning materials, I'm pretty excited to be able to sit back while someone else takes care of the planning. I'm confident that the JFMF organization knows how to organize a great trip.

My host city from the 19th through the 27th will be Tomigusuku in Okinawa. It is located at 24 degrees north latitude (roughly the same latitude as Miami), approximately 970 miles south of Tokyo! It will be like starting in Manhattan and traveling down to Bradenton. Except that New York City is only 2/3 the size of Tokyo.

I am so excited to follow your adventure! Have a great time!
We will miss you! Thanks for letting us "travel" with you, Christina. Have fun!
Tokyo – what neat place, a sort of living storybook. The several times that I have been there, I have felt like I stepped into a life-sized model. By our standards, everything is small: people, vehicles, streets… and tidy. The reputation of the Japanese people for being polite is well deserved. Ask for directions, and you may well find yourself being taken to your destination. While there, one should visit Shinjuku, the Ginza, Meiji Shrine, and, of course, the Royal Palace. But don’t miss the opportunity to stroll through a neighborhood, and visit the shops on some narrow back streets.
